LACOE Anti-Bias Asynchronous Microcertification
10-Week Completion Window: July 15-September 30th, 2026
Course Overview: Build your professional capacity to cultivate and maintain safe, healthy, inclusive, and culturally responsive & affirming classrooms, schools, and local educational agencies (LEAs). This program equips educators of all types with the fundamental knowledge, resources, and guidance needed to support historically underserved and marginalized students. Grounded in an asynchronous, interactive format, this training empowers staff to recognize, challenge, and dismantle systemic inequities by shifting perspectives from insight into action.
Total Time Commitment: 40 hours of web-based, interactive training.
Pacing Track: 12-week flexible self-paced completion window (~3.5 hours/week).
Core Learning Requirements: Fully engage with asynchronous web modules, complete the accompanying Reflective Workbook and Journal, and submit a final Evidence of Impact Assessment documenting practice shifts.
The "Insight-Out" Learning Pathway:
Introductory Course: Identity, Intersectionality, & the History of Oppression
Course 1: Implicit Bias and Bias Mitigation
Course 2: From Bias to Belonging, Trauma-Informed Dialogue
Course 3: Reciprocal Learning Partnerships (Featuring a "Choose Your Own Adventure" elective track in Culturally Responsive Math, ELA, or Counseling)
Course 4: Foundations of Restorative Practices for Teachers and Leaders
Registered participants will receive a link to access the Canvas page where the Reflective Workbook and Journal will be housed, and tasks will be submitted. Certification will be provided upon completion of the entire course. Participants have the option to complete single courses from the 4-course series; however, they will not obtain certification.
