Youth Vaping on Campus: Educating Professionals on
Addressing the Youth Vaping Epidemic

This no-cost virtual session will provide participants with a brief overview of e-cigarettes, how they work and what they look like, while exploring the health risks and current trends in teenage vaping. Tonya Moore from the Physical Education & Health Unit at LACOE will explore the Health Standards and framework and where vaping on campus can be addressed within those structures. The session will end with representatives from Stanford’s REACH Lab and Catch My Breath to talk about their vaping and cannabis curricula and how to use these Tier 1 supports at your site.

A 2-hour training

Goals:

  • An overview of current research and data on the impact of youth vape use
  • Concerns and the effects of youth vaping
  • How to respond to vaping on campus through school policies
  • Intervention options and resources available
