CA NGSS TIME Facilitator's Training

The NGSS Toolkit for Instructional Materials Evaluation is a set of modules, resources, and rubrics that will lead districts and organizations in their Science Textbook Adoption process. This will include deep discussions for the vision of what instructional materials should look like for students and to help determine the best program for students. It is imperative that teachers in California have the highest-quality science instructional materials aligned with the shifts in the CA NGSS. Selecting instructional materials that are phenomenon-based and that coherently incorporate three-dimensional learning requires that educators engage in a thoughtful, collaborative, and evidence-based process of materials selection to ensure the learning success for all California students. The CA NGSS Toolkit for Instructional Materials Evaluation (CA NGSS TIME) is an intentional, articulated, and comprehensive professional learning process in 6 sections that allows educators to achieve this vision. This course will help you prepare to facilitate the CA NGSS TIME process using the digital tools adapted for the collaborative interaction of your adoption team in a virtual and non-virtual environment.
