Do you ICUCARE®?

We'd love to see you at our celebration of learning and growth! Join us for the culminating event of our Choosing to See: A Framework for Equity in the Math Classroom book study, led by co-authors Dr. Pamela Seda and Dr. Kyndall Brown.

This is a space for meaningful dialogue, deep learning, and collective action. Together, we'll explore equity-centered practices and work to dismantle systemic barriers that impact Black students in mathematics. You'll leave with research-based insights and practical strategies to create math classrooms where every Black learner feels affirmed, valued, and empowered to thrive.

Come ready to engage, learn, and be inspired, and leave with a special gift as our thanks for being part of this important work!

See you there!

The ICUCARE® Equity Framework by Dr. Pamela Seda is a comprehensive approach to creating equitable mathematics classrooms that affirm and elevate all students, especially those from marginalized communities. The framework guides educators to: Include students as mathematical experts, Be Critically conscious of how stereotypes impact learning, Understand students' identities and experiences, Use Culturally relevant curricula that reflects students' lives, Assess and build on prior knowledge students bring, Release control to empower student agency, and Expect More by holding high expectations while disrupting deficit views. Together, these seven practices transform math instruction from teacher-centered authority to student-centered sensemaking, positioning all learners as capable mathematical thinkers and problem solvers.
