Full program description
Introduction to Individualized Transition Plans
Transition planning is an essential part of helping students with disabilities prepare for life after high school. This introductory session will provide a clear overview of the purpose and foundational components of a transition IEP.
Participants will learn how age-appropriate transition assessments inform measurable postsecondary goals in education or training, employment, and, when appropriate, independent living. This session will also introduce transition services, annual IEP goals, courses of study, and the importance of student voice in the planning process. Participants will leave with a basic understanding of how these elements work together to create an individualized, student-centered transition plan.
