Los Angeles County Regional Spelling Bee
The Los Angeles County Regional Spelling Bee is a competition held each year in March for district-level spelling champions in grades 4 to 8. Each district in the county is invited to send one district winner to compete in the county's regional competition.
Each participating school in the district must register with Scripps National Spelling Bee by January 31, 2025. (https://spellingbee.com/enrollment)
The top grade 4-6 and top grade 7-8 winners of the county regional Bee are sponsored by LACOE to participate in the California State Spelling Bees.
The overall winner will be sponsored to attend the Scripps National Spelling Bee in the Washington, D.C., area from May 26 to 30, 2025.
This registration signifies an intent to participate in the LA County Regional Spelling Bee on March 19th. The actual name and registration of each district's winner, along with a digital photo, are due to LACOE by Friday, Feb. 28, 2025.
Once all districts are registered, they will be contacted with the appropriate paperwork to complete for their winner.
