Designing for Every Learner

The updated UDL Guidelines challenge educators to move beyond access and consider identity, belonging, and agency as essential components of learning. Through collaborative activities and practical application, participants will explore how Universal Design for Learning (UDL) can support equitable opportunities and meaningful participation for all learners.

 

Learning Objectives

  • Examine the key shifts in the 2024 UDL Guidelines, including identity, belonging, agency, and collective learning.

  • Explore how systemic bias and learner variability influence access, participation, and educational experiences.

  • Apply UDL principles and guidelines to design learning environments that promote equity, belonging, and learner agency.
