Full program description
Online Civic Reasoning
This one-day workshop, taught by Joel Breakstone and Brad Fogo from the Digital Inquiry Group will provide teachers the tools and resources they need to critically evaluate online resources.
Their groundbreaking work began during their tenure at the Stanford History Education Group (SHEG) leading the Reading Like a Historian program.
Civic Online Reasoning teaches students to ask three questions when evaluating digital sources:
1.Who's behind the information?
2.What's the evidence?
3. What do other sources say?
The skills students learn through will not only make them better students, but better informed citizens able to participate in our democracy in an educated and responsible way.
