582 – California Common Core Standards for Reading Informational Text (6-12)

This is a 5-week online course

Participants will examine and consider how to begin transitioning to California’s Common Core State Reading Standards for English Language Arts (CCSS for ELA) & Literacy in History/Social Studies, Science, and Technical Subjects. The goal of the CCSS is for all students to be college- and career-ready in literacy no later than the end of high school. This course provides an opportunity for participants to carefully examine the CCSS for Reading Informational Text at their grade level or content area.

They will learn new strategies through video examples, in-depth readings, and activities that will help them apply their learning to their own classroom and transition to the new standards.
