Unearthing Joy Book Club by Dr. Gholdy Muhammad

HILL Pedagogies Services Inc. offers a six-session "literary society" program for educators. The program aims to read the book Unearthing Joy: A Guide to Culturally and Historically Responsive Teaching and Learning.

The program aims to help educators analyze and reflect on instructional and leadership practices. Its focus is on the HILL Model Framework, which includes Dr. Gholdy Muhammad's Five Pursuits and the importance of centering joy. Sessions will be led by Cultivating Genius Coach Chelsey Culley-Love, who has over 20 years of experience in the field of teaching.

Chelsey has been a Cultivating Genius Coach for the past four years and has successfully transformed her classroom into a learning space that inspires students to feel safe, take risks, make mistakes, and be themselves. By integrating solid teaching strategies and the HILL model, she is known as a warm demander with high expectations. Her efforts were recently recognized when she was named the 2022 ICUE Urban Educator of the Year by the Urban Education Collaborative. Attendees will receive a copy of the book Unearthing Joy by Dr. Gholdy Muhammad.
