Six Critical Practices for Leading a Team

Effective leaders make a significant impact on every metric in their organization: employee productivity, retention rates, attendance, student outcomes, innovation, and partner engagement. They are the “Difference Makers” in the pursuit of equitable outcomes for all.

The role of site and district leaders has always been tough.  Today’s realities make the role even tougher. Leading a team requires different skills than working as an individual contributor.  To succeed in the face of ever-changing challenges, leaders need to change how they think and act.  The Six Critical Practices teaches leaders how to shape faculty and staff into a high performing team.

Participants will learn to hold effective 1-on-1 meetings with strategic employees and generate three types of coaching questions. They will practice courageous conversations that delegate work to empowered employees and monitor outcomes to ensure high quality results.  Strategies to prioritize time and maintain boundaries to create a work and personal life balance will be introduced.
