Navigating Challenges: Using Simulations to Build Leadership Skills

Join us throughout this year as we provide a simulation-based leadership series. SchoolSims are video-based, interactive simulations designed for aspiring, novice, and experienced school leaders as well as teacher- leaders. The SchoolSims platform provides a safe learning environment where participants gain leadership experience without real-world consequences. Each simulation provides the opportunity to practice making high-stakes decisions in a low-stakes environment while considering the trade-offs building a deeper perspective about everyday issues experienced in the field.

Participant data from open-ended questions exhibits increased capacity in:

• Prompting thinking before decision making

• Teaching that every decision has a consequence

• Emphasizing the importance of fact-finding & wait time in decision-making

• Creating a safe environment in which to make mistakes and see the consequences played out

Each month we will explore a new topic together, making decisions collaboratively throughout the session based upon simulation scenarios.
