Four Essential Roles of Leadership

The world is changing at an unprecedented rate. Leaders are making countless decisions and facing new challenges. What worked yesterday can change overnight. The pace of work is relentless. The stakes are high, but the rewards are great for educators who can lead a team to consistently deliver extraordinary results. Franklin Covey spent more than two years studying what organizations need from their leaders. The 4 Essential Roles help equity leaders stay ahead of the curve and differentiate their teams despite the challenges facing schools today. The Four Essential Roles: • Inspire Trust • Create Vision • Execute Strategy • Coach Potential Participants will: • Think big and adapt quickly • Translate strategy into meaningful work • Define and describe a high-performing culture • Explore the role and attitudes of a leader • Learn how to own initiatives that come from the district office • Practice reflection, empathetic listening, and conversations with difficult people Activities include: • Conducting a 360 of self-leadership assessment • Creating a site and team vision • Developing and executing a strategic plan • Practicing and refining a strategic narrative • Aligning processes and procedures to the Six Rights
