Equity in Action Summit

The 21st Century California School Leadership Academy (CSLA) is hosting a FREE three-day in-person event for school and district leaders to build their capacity to identify and interrupt educational inequities.

Participants will have the option to customize their learning experience at the conference. Participants will select either Session 1A or Session 1B and either Session 2A or Session 2B.

Session 1A, Presented by: Dr. Kim Wallace
February 23, 2026 (8:00 am-4:00pm) & February 24, 2026 (8:00 am-11:30am)
Join Dr. Kim Wallace’s series, Talking theData Walk! This session will guide site, district, and county office leaders through an 8-step protocol to conceptualize, design, plan, and execute an onsite data walk event to investigate their identified problem of practice.

Session 1B, Presented by: Ezequiel Gutierrez and Robert Perez, Executive Leadership Coaches from Fresno County Superintendent of Schools

Transformational and Facilitative Leadership Leadership
Participants will master practical models of Transformational and Facilitative Leadership. Going beyond theory, attendees will gain ready-to-use strategies for coaching team members through resistance. By utilizing a work-style inventory, leaders will learn to navigate diverse personalities to maximize team outcomes, ensure true equity of voice, and foster a positive, high-performance culture.

Session 2A, Presented by: Tonya Moore, LACOE Project Director III Wellbeing & Belonging
February 24, 2026 (12:30 pm-4:00 pm) & February 25, 2026 (8:00 am-4:00 pm)
Participants will learn how to Elevate their leadership to better affirm and protect LGBTQ+ students! Work with Tonya Moore and the Wellbeing & Belonging Unit to explore transformative practices across three core pillars: Personal Reflection, Systemic Change, and Courageous Advocacy. Foster a truly inclusive and healing school environment.

Session 2B, Presented by: Ellen Palmer and Alvaro Brito, LACOE EdTech and Innovation Unit
February 24, 2026 (12:30 pm-4:00 pm) & February 25, 2026 (8:00 am-4:00 pm)
AI Strategies for School Administrators
Participants will learn how to strategically manage AI, focusing on three pillars: designing future-ready staff PD with tools like Gemini Gems, establishing a central data repository using NotebookLM/Gems for smarter decisions, and ensuring robust ethical governance by addressing bias, privacy, and policy concerns.
