DEI Camouflaged: A Community of Practice for District-Level Equity Leaders

Join 21CSLA and district leaders from six California counties in this seven-part series led by Dr. Jennifer Smith, a retired Chief Equity Officer. District-level equity leaders find themselves adapting important and well-intentioned Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion work to adapt to the district climate and environment, often needing to pivot action steps and plans at a moment’s notice.

The participants from this Community of Practice will discuss current equity in a rehearsal space for building leader capacity to change systems for more equitable outcomes for students and adults. Sessions may also include guest speakers who will spotlight a signature practice and success story about interrupting district inequities. DEI work is hard work and HEART work, but you don’t need to feel alone.

This Community Practice is your tribe of support, encouragement, and coaching. The first session will be in-person so that participants can begin to build community and prioritize topics to discuss during the seven-part series. The other sessions will be held virtually.
