Full program description

Foundations for Instructional Coaches

Instructional coaching is a powerful tool that can be used to support self-efficacy in educators and learners. By providing educators and learners with targeted feedback and support, instructional coaches can help develop mastery experiences, which are the most powerful source of efficacy. Coaches can use role modeling and storytelling to create vicarious experiences, provide positive feedback and encouragement to promote social persuasion, and help educators regulate their emotional states to reduce anxiety and build confidence. Through this holistic approach, instructional coaching can help learners develop a sense of competence and agency and achieve their goals with greater confidence and success to achieve equitable outcomes in the classroom.
