Overview of Williams Legislation Requirements

The Los Angeles County Office of Education’s (LACOE) Williams Instructional Materials Unit within the Accountability, Support and Monitoring Division reviews and monitors the Los Angeles County schools on the Williams list for compliance with instructional materials. This unit also oversees the Williams Uniform Complaint Procedures (UCP) quarterly reporting and provides support with the instructional materials component of the School Accountability Report Card (SARC). The LACOE’s Williams Instructional Materials, Facilities, and Credentials team will host two (2) meetings to provide an overview of the Williams instructional materials review, Teacher credential and assignments review and Facilities inspection in preparation for the 2024-25 Williams compliance school visits. The same content will be covered at both meetings. This meeting will focus on: • Overview of Williams Legislation Settlement • Teacher Assignment Guidelines • Instructional Materials Protocol and Documents • Facilities Review Protocol and Documents • Overview of Canvas Document Submission • Uniform Complaint Procedures Quarterly Reports Submission • School Accountability Report Card Due Date February 1, 2025
