2025-2026 2-Day In-Person Training: Strengthening and Sustaining Family & Community Engagement through CA MTSS
with Featured Speaker: Kimberli Breen, MS, CAS, MA, Behavior Change Agent, Affecting Behavior Change, Inc.
Join national MTSS expert Kimberli Breen for this interactive 2-day in-person training designed to support districts, LEAs, and school sites in reflecting on and strengthening their Family and Community Engagement (FACE) practices through the California MTSS framework as they close out the current school year and prepare for the next.
This session offers a two-tiered approach:
- Day 1 focuses on foundational strategies and tools, helping participants reflect on their current engagement practices, revisit core principles, and align efforts with MTSS structures.
- Day 2 transitions into FACE 2.0, providing advanced tools for strategic planning, sustainability, and systems alignment to deepen family partnerships and increase long-term impact.
Key Topics Include:
- Re-centering on the foundational elements of FACE within CA MTSS
- Using data reflection protocols to assess current year efforts
- Co-designing with families for more inclusive and equitable engagement
- Creating a FACE action plan aligned to MTSS tiers and site/district goals
- Leveraging FACE in LCAP planning, Community Schools, EL Roadmap, and other initiatives
What Participants Will Walk Away With:
- A year-end reflection guide to evaluate current FACE practices
- Practical tools and templates to support planning and alignment
- A draft roadmap for FACE implementation in the coming school year
- Strategies to build leadership and staff capacity for sustained engagement
Led by Kim Breen, this training brings deep expertise, real-world application, and an energizing approach to help your team move from reflection to readiness, ensuring Family and Community Engagement is embedded in systems, not siloed.
