Student Success Teams (SST): Strengthening Collaborative, Student-Centered Problem Solving
Student Success Teams (SSTs) are a critical component of an effective California Multi-Tiered System of Support (CA MTSS), providing a structured, collaborative process for identifying student strengths, addressing barriers to success, and developing targeted supports. Led by Kim Breen, this interactive professional learning session equips educators and school teams with the knowledge and strategies needed to facilitate effective SSTs that promote equitable outcomes and strengthen Tier 1 and Tier 2 supports before considering more intensive interventions.
Participants will:
- Develop an understanding of the purpose and role of Student Success Teams within the CA MTSS Framework.
- Learn the key components of an effective, student-centered SST process.
- Explore strategies for facilitating collaborative, strength-based problem-solving conversations with school staff and families.
- Examine how data can be used to identify student needs, develop targeted action plans, and monitor progress.
- Identify practices that strengthen SST implementation and support equitable, timely, and collaborative decision-making.
This session is designed for school and district leaders, administrators, counselors, teachers, and student support staff who are committed to building effective Student Success Team processes that improve outcomes for every student.
NO COST to LA County LEAs and their schools.
